Further Date Added for November - Water Music at Trinity Arts Centre, Castlerea

A further date has been added to the SiarScéal Festival 2014 Programme of Events.

Trinity Arts Centre, Castlerea, Co. Roscommon will host Water Music, a study of the River Suck through mixed media and haiku by artist, Anne Rigney and poet, Gwen Bond. This will take place on Friday, 28th November. The evening commences at 7pm, with a wine reception. Further entertainment will come in the form of readings from members of Mill Wheel Writers, music by Lilibulero (duet featuring Sean Hanily and Annie McNally). The exhibition will continue over the weekend.

Friday, 10 October: Closing date for entries to The Hanna Greally Literary Awards 2014 (including the Ger Hanily Memorial Cup). Full details about the competition, including rules of entry, are available online. The Overall Prize Winner will receive a publishing services package valued at €1,000, courtesy of The Manuscript Publisher. This will enable the lucky winner to get his or her book published, in print and e-book editions.

Saturday, 25 October: A day long festival of poetry, prose, music, recitals, book launch, writers workshops, open mic. The main venue is Roscommon County Library, Abbey Street, Roscommon Town. Please refer to the Programme of Events (also available to download if you would like to circulate and display) for precise details as to times and venues.

Winners of this year's Hanna Greally Literary Awards will be announced and prizes will be presented on the day. If you are thinking of entering, remember that the closing date is Friday 10 October (see above).

Included in this year's programme is the launch of the book, The Battle for Coman's Wood by Mario Corrigan. This work of historical fiction was inspired by students of Castleplunkett NS and Abbey NS. Signed copies of the book will be on sale at the launch. It will also be available to buy online, in print and e-book editions, from October.

Friday, 28 November: Water Music exhibition at Trinity Arts Centre, Castlerea, Co. Roscommon. Evening commences 7pm. The exhibition will continue over the weekend.
